Raindrops yearning to be
snowflakes just this one last time.
Daffodils hoping to warm the world
with their version of sunlight.
Wrens, towhees, sparrows, and a crow,
like a choir practicing,
blending their vernal tune into song.
Celebratory confetti strewn along the road or
are those pear blossoms?
No one wants to tell the crow
he’s not really a songbird.
